Teacher Training and Professional Development

Teacher PD programs  can be delivered on or off site and session times can be adapted to suit teachers’ availability. All programs have an experiential component that might include Mindful Eating, Mindful Emotions, Mindful Exercise, Mindful Self Compassion or Mindful Meditation. Comprehensive takeaway resources will be provided.
Workshop 1:   Why Mindfulness Matters. An entertaining and informative session that outlines mindfulness, its’ history, current research and why  schools all over the world are turning to it in droves! This can either be in a 50 minute presentation format or a longer experiential workshop.
Workshop 2:   Mindfulness, Planning and Procrastination. This workshop shows how Mindfulness can effectively help those who suffer from procrastination, particularly when it comes to planning. Teachers will be given strategies to aid the planning process as well as overcome procrastination.

This workshop can be run as a three hour session or three one hour sessions.

Workshop 3:   Mindfulness Tools for Avoiding Burnout.  Teachers who continuously push themselves risk suffering burnout. This session will give them  skills to build their resilience and manage their stress levels to avoid burn out. They will learn the ‘what’, ‘how’ and ‘when’ specific mindfulness techniques can help them throughout their day.

This workshop can be run as a three hour session or three one hour sessions.

Workshop 4: Mindfulness Fundamentals: Bringing Mindfulness into the Classroom.  The  workshop is for teachers who want to introduce mindfulness into the classroom.   It is expected that all attendees will  have a good understanding of  mindfulness as well as an established mindfulness or similar practice that has been on-going for at least six months.

Teachers are taught the fundamentals about mindfulness including the current research and science behind it. They will learn about Mindful Eating, Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindful Exercise, Mindful Emotions and Mindful Meditation.They will learn how to integrate it into the classroom and explore ways to have it incorporated into the curriculum.

This workshop can run for either 4 weeks (just for the Mindfulness Fundamentals) or 6 weeks (Fundamentals and Bringing it into the classroom) and would ideally be done over a 4 or 6 week period. Each session last for an hour and twenty minutes.
